What VA Community Care Means

VA Community Care allows eligible veterans to receive healthcare from approved community providers outside the VA system when the VA cannot provide the needed care in a timely or accessible manner. Chiropractic care is included as a covered service for many eligible veterans, subject to VA determination and prior authorization.

Precision Care Chiropractic is located at 5850 W Wilshire Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73132. Phone: 405-803-8770.

How the Referral Process Usually Works

  • Step 1: Contact your VA primary care provider or VA chiropractic clinic to discuss your symptoms and request a referral.
  • Step 2: The VA determines whether Community Care is appropriate based on eligibility, access standards, and clinical criteria.
  • Step 3: If Community Care is authorized, the VA issues a referral to an approved community provider such as Precision Care Chiropractic.
  • Step 4: Contact Precision Care Chiropractic at 405-803-8770 after your VA authorization is in place to schedule your appointment.

Do not schedule your VA Community Care appointment before authorization is in place. Without prior VA authorization, care may not be covered.

How to Request Precision Care Chiropractic

Veterans who have received VA Community Care authorization may contact Precision Care Chiropractic directly to schedule:

Please bring your VA authorization paperwork and any relevant imaging or records to your first appointment.

What to Bring to Your First Visit

  • VA Community Care authorization documents
  • VA identification card
  • Any relevant imaging (X-rays, MRI reports, CT scans)
  • List of current medications
  • Medical history related to your back, spine, or nerve symptoms
  • Primary care provider contact information

What VA May Cover and What May Be Self-Pay

Coverage under VA Community Care is determined entirely by the VA. What VA covers — including the number of authorized visits, specific services, and billing procedures — is based on your individual VA authorization. Services or visits outside the scope of your authorization may be billed as self-pay.

Precision Care Chiropractic can discuss self-pay options for veterans who are not eligible for VA Community Care or who prefer to schedule without VA involvement.

Important Red-Flag Symptoms

Seek immediate medical evaluation — do not wait for a referral — if you experience any of the following:

  • Loss of bladder or bowel control
  • Numbness in the groin or saddle area
  • Sudden or rapidly worsening leg weakness
  • Foot drop (difficulty lifting the front part of your foot)
  • Severe symptoms following trauma or injury
  • Fever combined with severe back pain
  • Rapidly worsening neurological symptoms

These symptoms may indicate a medical emergency. Contact emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.
